Epcot,USboys,Pools&Sun.
Orientation day was yesterday, in the morning we went to the vista way pavilion to do some paperwork..funfunfun. its not too bad though cause i live @ vista way so it was like a 5minute walk from my apartment. after that we came back and me and two of my flatmates went to get some lunch at chick-fil-A, they enjoyed it whereas i did not. The burger bun was really soggy and all it had in it was one piece of a chicken and a gherkin, not any salad, no source, they could have at least put 2 gherkins in!! i like gherkins! anywho, Emma and her flatmates were eating @ Wendy's ( which we should have ) so joined up with them on the way back; hoped on a bus which took us to 'the commons' which is fully international students who are doing a whole year out as appose to the college programmes. People at the commons are normally cast into Epcot World Showcase representing their specific countries!
We then spent about 4 hours listening to rules and regulations and filling out paperwork - it was kinda like a uni lecture, everyone sat alphabetically and suchlike. I was slightly tempted to get away with drinking here but NO WAY after that 4 hour talk will i be letting alcohol anywhere near me!No Thanks - being deported and not being allowed back in the US at a later date...I'm sure the 4 month detox will do me well anyway! Oh, forgot to mention that Disney was not very happy with my hair colour, and that after months of attempting to get it blonde and natural from every shade or red and pink, and moneys and effort.- I had to dye it brown.. boring old brown, but I've gone for a really light brown, I think I look like a chimney sweep from the 1900s, Emma disagrees.
Although.. good things did happen at this 4hour sit-in. - we got told where we were going to work!! and i'm at Epcot - unfortunately not in the world showcase, but i'm working @ mouse gear which is the biggest merchandise store at Epcot! I've already met 2 american guys who are working at Epcot too, one actually in the same store as me, and another doing the photo passes! This morning 11am at the pavilion, consisted of more paperwork and getting the Disney pay-card which we get paid next Thursday for the first time. I have traditions tomorrow at 2pm, then training at Epcot & the Disney university on Thursday and Friday until 6.30pm. I've been told by the guys who already work there that the hours are really long at mouse gears and he doesn't finish work tonight until 2am... oops. oh well, i'm sure i'l manage.
Last night we ( when i say we i mean Me,Emma,Kirsten,Charlotte&Lucy) went for our first Disney meal @Downtown Disney@the Rainforest Cafe, it was pretty damn good and very yummy. I had Rasta Pasta which is actually still waiting for me in the fridge as i of course, couldn't finish a whole one!
We spent all day by the pool today. which was pretty cool and just ridiculously hot, - clearly an oxymoron just waiting to happen.
Some american guys who have been here for a month already came and spoke to us which was cool, then a guy from Hawaii and they both said that everyone goes to Buffalo Wings ..something, on a Wednesday night which then turns into a club and we should go, so I think we're gonna check that out tomorrow.
Still hot&sunny outside, I needed a cool off time. Meeting so many awesome people from all over the world. It's amazing! And... just realized I'll be in EPCOT for JULY Th!!!

first official day!
hello there, i have now arrived at Vista Way which is where i'm going to be living for the next 3ish months. I'm sharing a room with an Indonesian girl called Putri, and my other flatmates I have met are Silvia from Italy and Esra from Turkey. They all seem pretty nice so far which is nice. It's now quarter to 8 and it's really started to rain now, that seems to be the tradition for the thunderstorm season; boiling sun all day and then it switches at like 630pm to thunder&lightning&rain, how rubbish.
Tomorrow is orientation day 1 - we STILL HAVE NOT been told where we are going to work or what our costumes are.... apparently that surprise will not be found out until Wednesday - traditions!

Hello friends,
today's activities consist of getting things i need for when i start on Sunday...
- a cell phone
- a watch ( i really don't want a watch... )
- a combination lock.. which i think is a padlock
- an Ethernet cable
etc... fun.times.
We had Chinese takeaway last night - i managed to order the only thing with about 4 different types of mushrooms in - i HATE mushrooms. so i didn't eat any of that however... the chicken fried rice DID come in the white boxes with red Chinese writing on the front like in the films.. so i was pretty happy about that!

this is my favourite part of islands of adventures - apart from HP obv..
im in orlando babey
so, i thought id carry on this little update, as it actually hasn't been 'updated' in months and lots has happened. mainly the fact that i'm actually in the US now, living in Orlando. for the time being i'm on vacation as they like to say here - until Sunday 19th, this Sunday when i actually start working for Disney. i don't actually think i will be working on that day, i think you start a few days later, but yeah that's when it all changes.
i got here on Tuesday afternoon, it was pretty weird going through customs with all the paperwork and not just being checked and let go ( like on a family holiday ) but i had to be taken to some special room in the back where a US border control person checked my stuff and made sure i wasn't some criminal or something or other. anyway i passed the check and that was that. there is really nothing like that moment you step out of the airport into the Orlando sun. it was really rather nice.
went to islands of adventure today which was gooood and also cause i'm working for Disney not universal i wouldn't be entitled to go into universal for free or discount.. maybe discount.. i don't know, but because its not part of it, its good i went todayyyyy and didn't have to pay for it myself...
HP world is just amazing as always, didn't get a butterbeer this time, bad times, i highly recommend, if you go to have a butterbeer, they do them in frozen and un-frozen varieties, last year we got one of each to test which one was better, and although the frozen one seems nicer at first and mainly because your 1000000degrees and melting and that's made of ice.. but the un-frozen one is better!
but yar, so just got back from the pool now, dad refused to come because it was ' too hot outside ' .. what do you expect from Florida!?!? so i went on my own. there were some american guys and girls my age-ish like opposite me. i felt a bit odd being on my own, i'm not too sure why cause loads of people go down on their own, but then they left so i could enjoy the beautiful sun on my own, content with diet pepsi, new bikini and magazines. although then i started to realize when a man pointed it out to his little girl that there were grasshoppers next to me in the bush. and then i looked and they were ABSO-BLOODY-LUTELY MASSIVE. it was disgusting, the man was comparing them to the ones in 'the tree of life' 'its tough to be a bug' ( Bugslife characters) @ animal kingdom....
they were horrible, i saw two, then a lizard, so i made a rather hasty move back to the apartment, where i am now, writing this. going to Downtown Disney laterrrrrr then out to eat. i'l put a few pics up from today! chow x

disney diary continued..
right, i think its probably time for another post considering the last time i wrote on this it was march; its now may - and yesterday it was 2 weeks exactly until i leave for Florida!
I LITERALLY CANNOT WAIT, I've got a week to revise though for my last exam which is next Wednesday: not excited about that at all in any way or form but hey ho, it'l be over soon and i'l be free!
I've had about 7 or 8 emails from the YummyJobs team and WDW about starting and where to go/what to do; i literally cannot believe its nearly here! like its actually crazy. 3 months in Florida, in less than two weeks, ARE YOU FOR REAL!?!?!
Fee assessment has been paid :) so all is good, i've spoken to WDW direct as i'm getting there like a week before my ICP starts. I leave England on 14th June, a week on Tuesday, what even is that? thats soooo close! :DDDDD aaaaah.
I've decided i'm going to go travelling after the program finishes in Septemeber, probably LA, maybe new Orleans too, on the way. possibilities are literally endless now.
The groups on Facebook are just making me jealous everytime i read a post, i hate it but love it at the same time and cant stop reading it! I keep going through everyone that is already out there's pictures. There brilliant, i can't wait. I'm going to attempt to do v-blogs at some point but my laptop is just totally broken so i think i'm gonna have to get a new one before i go to the US. so much to do - so little timeeeee.

moremore
i thought id add a little more to this as I've noticed people have been reading it and it's not actually got enough writing in it! so found out, iv'e having a small mare in the terms of photos! the photo that was supposed to be part of the forms, for the visa. I hadn't realized there was a photo crop tool for the embassy online, where the exact size they wanted could be done easily. So i carried on - without a photo, and decided to 'take on to the interview' thinking it would be fine with a passport size photo... it turns out it is very not okay to have that, and now i have to somehow get a photo with about 100 rules and regulations and sizes and stuff, so really iv'e just made more work for myself. Silly silly.
Iv'e also been realizing there is so much Disney around our house, just little things, like mums just walked in, in her Minnie mouse pinnie, there are kitchen utensils, flannels, figurines, and obviously the Disney baubles that mum always buys from the christmassey shop in Magic Kingdom.

morning bore
this morning i watched this to get me in the mood for Disney, it was pretty rubbish and i think its a very old copy, it didn't really get me in the mood, but i'm still trying to find ways :)
the cats were also slightly bored by the dvd so they fell asleepies in the sun!

the month is march.
This blog i must say is a little late, well a little late in terms of just how many fellow 'disney-ers' have a blog/v-blog.. i thought i may give it a go as it seems to be the thing to do, and i'm slightly bored and very excited!
SO, the stage i am up to in the Disney process is pretty far considering i haven't blogged any of it.
I've had all my interviews and have successfully got my placement in Disney from 19thJune2011-2ndSept2011. what a perfect way to spend a summer.. although, missing festival season which i'm more than pretty gutted about! but this WILL be better, i'm sure of it. Iv'e got my welcome pack, eventually... which came the day before i came home for 'easter' ( which isn't easter ) for uni! So i had something nice to read, although i actually only got round to reading it properly yesterday. Iv'e filled out all my forms and whatnot to do with the visa so my appointment is on the 4th April, so next monday i think that is? at half ten in the morning... bright and early, badtimes considering i live no-where near LDN. I don't have my flights yet, as M+D are ex-cabin crew for BA so flights can get sorted seperately; also i'm coming out a few days before the placement, it was going to be a week before but i had to get my festival needs in so managed to get PARKLIFE in Manchester in the weekend before i go, so probs leave on Monday or Tuesday depending how i feel. We've got a timeshare out there at Vistana Resort so i'l be there until the 19th, not too sure if anyone else is going out or whatnot, i haven't heard of anyone that is but yeahhhhhh... so that's where i'm up to so far!
